"Among All the Senses, Vision is Supreme"
Keeping this saying in mind, a nationwide campaign for the eradication of blindness is being carried out by the Saksham Organization. Among all organs of the human body, the eyes are among the most vital. Therefore, the motto of the Netra Kumbh (Eye Checkup Camp) is “Pashyema Sharadah Shatam”, which means “May we see this beautiful creation of God for a hundred years.” This vision inspired the planning of the Netra Kumbh.
Near Pokhran in Rajasthan, known globally for India’s nuclear tests, lies the holy town of Ramdevra, about 12 km north. It is also known as Runicha Dham, and is visited by devotees in large numbers. About 673 years ago, Baba Ramdev Ji was born here and fought against social evils, becoming a symbol of unity and harmony. He attained Samadhi (conscious exit from life) at the age of 33 on the banks of Ram Sarovar on Bhadrapad Shukla Ekadashi, Vikram Samvat 1442.
Every year, a large fair is held from Shravan Shukla to the end of Bhadrapad month. This year, more than 5 million devotees are expected. People come walking, by bicycle, or motorcycle to offer their devotion and fulfill their wishes — they are called Jatarus.
Taking this sacred opportunity, the Lokdevta Baba Ramdev Netra Kumbh 2025 will be organized to provide free eye checkups, medicines, spectacles, and surgeries. This initiative will be supported by the Government of Rajasthan and several notable organizations including:
– Saksham
– Seemajan Kalyan Samiti
– Shri Baba Ramdev Seva Samiti, Ramdevra
– National Medicos Organization
– Jan Seva Samiti, Jaisalmer
– Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad
– Vidya Bharati
– Vishwa Hindu Parishad
– Seva Bharati
– Bharat Vikas Parishad
– Rajasthan Shikshak Sangh (National), among others
This will become an unprecedented and unique example of health service during Baba Ramdev Ji’s fair.

Target Audience
Every year, people from rural areas of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, including tribal, hilly, and desert regions, participate. These include underprivileged communities, laborers, farmers, and handloom workers. Such regions lack quality eye care facilities.
This initiative aims to provide them with free, high-quality eye checkups, medicines, spectacles, and surgeries, ultimately enhancing their daily lives.
Blindness Prevention & Eye Donation Awareness
Due to lack of awareness, many people lose their eyesight needlessly. Certain types of blindness are treatable, but due to lack of access, people suffer.
India has 12.5 million visually impaired people, out of which 1.5 million suffer from corneal blindness. If eye donation awareness increases, India can become free of corneal blindness and even support neighboring countries with corneas.
During the fair, there will also be:
– Eye donation pledge drives
– General medical consultations (Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy)
– Blood tests, diabetes screening, and health awareness programs.
Importance of Vision & Spectacles
– Over 500 million Indians need spectacles.
– Students with corrected vision perform better and become confident and self-reliant.
– Women, especially homemakers and workers, become more efficient.
– Drivers benefit from reduced accident risks, saving lives and property.
– Senior citizens lead more confident and independent lives.
– Laborers increase productivity, contributing to national development.
