World Disability Day

This is the day on which the poisonous gas leakage incident occurred in Union Carbide Company at Bhopal in the year 1984 , due to this leakage about 15,000 people died and thousands of people became disabled. In commemoration of this incident the United Nations has declared this day as World Disability Day in the year 1992. This day is being observed to show respect for Divyangjan and for their empowerment.
